Danzo went through the pain staking effort of warping Kabutos memories. This is big one. Nagato. Nagato from the very start of his life was used as a sacrifice to bring a nutcase back from the dead. For that reason he was cursed with Rinnegan.

From the very start of the series you have children being used as canon fodder for war. Children are trained to fight and kill each other. From as young as six years old. Even in the Boruto era.
